Greetings Smith Parents:

As of today’s date, Smith students in grades third through fifth will take the Georgia Milestones' End-of-Grade (EOG) assessment. The assessments measure how well students are mastering the knowledge and skills they have been taught from specific content standards.

Students in grades three through five will take the English/Language Arts and Mathematics assessments for their grade level. Fifth grade students will also take the Science assessment. The assessments are scheduled to begin the last week in April 2021. **The administration of the assessment and the date of the administration can change depending on direction from the state.

In addition to the academic instruction, test preparation, overall support and encouragement provided by your student’s teacher, students (and parents) can use the GMAS Study/Resource Guides provided by the state. The Study/Resource Guides contain practice questions and learning activities for each content area. The standards identified in the Study/Resource Guides address a sampling of the state-mandated content standards.

The direct link to the Study/Resource Guides are provided below. Use this resource to help your student to become familiar with the types of questions and prepare for the GMAS. If you find that your student is unfamiliar with a question or needs additional assistance, reach out to your teacher. Happy studying J
